Steve Clark.........was overall high gun with a convincing 6 shot win over nearest rival K Johnson. The weather remained kind to day with the occasional gust of wind, and fortunately it was not until later in the day that the rain turned up. Whether you liked driven, crossing, quartering or rabbits there was a stand to cater for all. One shooter commented (first time visitor to Northall) that the targets were very good and that the layout was excellent. Moving on to B Class Guy Franklin more akin to Olympic Skeet won with 69. Paul Cornwell shot 70 to win B Class and S Bray won C Class with 64. J Kemp won the Ladies with 64 and F Thompson was second with 52. There were no Junior entries. The next Northall registered shoot will be in the New Year. See fixture list for 2010

In addition to the Sporting competitions Northall also staged the Sussex Double Rise Championships for 2009. A good turnout of pre booked squads enabled an exciting competition to take place. By the end of the day Dave Simmons was clear winner with 84/100 to become Sussex Double Rise Champion 2009. Ladies champion was Julie Smith on 60. Veteran was Martin Holden on 69, and Junior champion was Dan Tarrant with 66. Aaron Smith won the Colts with 59.

A worthy mention (not anything to do with clay shooting) must go to John Barten (father of top shooter Darren Barton :-).....) who is celebrating his 51st wedding anniversary.

Throughout the day shooters and visitors alike also had the opportunity to have professional made ear protection through CMEP. I see gunsmith Tony did!

Hopefully I have not forgotten anything! Oh yes you can view some photos taken on the day by clicking on the photo to the left........Bye for now.......
